Hugging Face just dropped Smolagents, and it’s like giving developers a magic wand to create AI agents with a snap of their fingers — or, well, a few lines of Python. Who said you needed a PhD and three cups of coffee to dive into AI? Not Hugging Face.

• Smolagents is just 1,000 lines of code, proving that size doesn’t matter (at least not in AI frameworks). It’s the minimalist’s dream and your IDE’s best friend.

Covering 100x more scenarios, it’s free on GitHub, leveling the playing field for anyone wanting to build the next Rosie the Robot. 

Finally, robots are oversharing, and we’re here for it!

🎨 Turns out Raphael didn’t fly solo on Madonna della Rosa — AI just exposed that St. Joseph’s face was likely painted by his talented sidekick, Giulio Romano. Using a high-tech AI with 98% accuracy, researchers cracked the case, leaving art historians smugly saying, “We told you so.” 

Beyond solving 500-year-old mysteries, this tech could revolutionize how we conserve and authenticate art.

🧠 Alibaba just unveiled QVQ-72B, an open-source AI that’s great at solving math and physics problems—step by step, no shortcuts. It’s so smart it scored a 70.3 on a top benchmark, nipping at the heels of fancy closed-source rivals like Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

 By sharing it with the world, Alibaba’s basically saying, “Who needs a tutor when you’ve got us?” 

🛡️Carnegie Mellon and Apple teamed up to give robots an “artificial skin” with ARMOR, cutting collisions by 63.7% and making them navigate like pros (78.7% better, to be exact). It’s so fast, it processes data 26x quicker than cameras—basically the Usain Bolt of robot perception. Tested on a humanoid bot, this tech could soon make robots the clumsy-free helpers we’ve always dreamed of.

🤔 OpenAI’s new “deliberative alignment” approach trains AI to double-check itself before blurting out answers. By adding some much-needed reasoning and internal policy consulting, their o-series models are now like that friend who actually thinks before they speak.
